Leap year: how to propose with food

The 29th of February is rare for many reasons. Firstly, it only comes around once every 4 years. Secondly, and sadly, it’s an extra day that we all work for free, which is why some people have campaigned for it to be a bank holiday. Thirdly, and perhaps the most well known reason, it has become tradition for women to propose to men on this day.
Given that I’m a food blogger, I thought I’d post about how the world of food and women proposing on the 29th of February are coming together for this rare and potentially special day.

The Beefeater, a well known British steak restaurant, has created a ‘Leap Year Proposal Package’ for women looking to propose. Lucky men who are being proposed to will receive a 10z steak branded ‘will you marry me’, along with an unconventional ring – an onion ring! Sounds like every man’s dream.

But don’t worry if you haven’t booked your table at Beefeater; for any women out there looking to pop the question, you’ve always got a monster munch crisp or a Haribo ring to fall back on.

Or you could dress up some yoghurt and surprise your man with breakfast in bed…..
